10/12/2017GPS/Tablet Questions.waltpam
#5093Hello fellow members,

If I could, I would like to pick your guys minds a little on using a 10" or 12" tablet with GPS capabilities for trails.

Is all I need a tablet with a built in GPS capabilities, and then a program that shows the trails in Az .?. Or am I oversimplifying the set-up ?.

My goal is to record and store some of the really cool trails we have been on, so I can go back later. A map of the existing trails would be cool too if possible.

Is there a easy to use set up I can buy that would do what I want ?. Obviously I would need to mount the tablet in my sxs. Any help on who sells mounts would be great too.

I've gotten some advice on a Apple tablet and iHike program, but don't think that is compatible with our home computers. I assume they will need to talk to download ?.

Any help or advice from any of you that are currently using this type of set-up would be greatly appreciated. Obviously I am not computer savvy, so sorry if my questions are dumb.

Thanks a bunch guys,

Walt Slaysman.
